Germany’s Exports Jump 7%

Germany’s exports jumped by 7 percent in June providing hope that Europe’s largest economy is on the mend. Germany’s trade surplus now stands at 11 billion euros ($15.8 billion). More

Canada Losses 44,500 Jobs in July

Statistics Canada reported today that the Canadian economy shed 44,500 in July – this was more than expected but the actual unemployment rate remained steady at an 11-year high of 8.6 percent. More

US Lost Jobs at a Slower Rate in July

The US Labor Department employment report indicates that 247,000 jobs were eliminated in July – this is the lowest single-month loss in a year and is better than analysts predicted. Total unemployment also improved slightly to 9.4 percent from 9.5 percent in June. More

UK Factory Gate Prices Fall 1.3%

UK Factory Gate prices – a measure of the price for goods leaving British factories – fell by 1.3 percent in June compared to the same month one year ago. More
