Euro Gains as Trichet Says Greece Will Not Default

The Euro gained for a second day after European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet said that “a default is not an issue for Greece”. Greek Bonds also rose for the first time in two weeks on the strength of Trichet’s comments.
