Loonie Climbs Half a Cent on Alcoa Earnings

Alcoa kicked off earnings week by beating predictions and posting earnings of thirteen cents a share. Alcoa also said it expects demand for aluminum to continue to grow this year.

The news helped boost the Canadian dollar, which gained 0.51 cents from yesterday’s close to 96.9 cents US.
