Dean Popplewell has nearly two decades of experience trading currencies and fixed income instruments.
He has a deep understanding of market fundamentals and the impact of global events on capital markets.
He is respected among professional traders for his skilled analysis and career history as global head
of trading for firms such as Scotia Capital and BMO Nesbitt Burns. Since joining OANDA in 2007, Dean
has played an instrumental role in driving awareness of the forex market as an emerging asset class
for retail investors, as well as providing expert counsel to a number of internal teams on how to best
serve clients and industry stakeholders.

Alfonso Esparza

Senior Currency Strategist, OANDA

Alfonso Esparza specializes in macro forex strategies for North American and major currency pairs. Upon
joining OANDA in 2007, he established the MarketPulseFX blog and he has since written extensively about
central banks and global economic and political trends. Alfonso has also worked as a professional currency
trader focused on North America and emerging markets. He holds a finance degree from the Monterrey Institute
of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM) and an MBA with a specialization on financial engineering and
marketing from the University of Toronto.

Stuart McPhee has more than 16 years’ experience as a private trader and he specializes in technical market
analysis of major currency pairs. He is the author of several bestselling trading books, most recently the fourth
edition of his popular book “Trading in a Nutshell” (John Wiley), and he contributes articles to daily newsletters
and blogs. He produces articles and videos on the how-tos of technical trading.

Kenny Fisher

Currency Analyst, OANDA

Kenny Fisher joined OANDA in 2012 as Currency Analyst. Based in Israel, Kenneth writes a daily column about current economic and political developments affecting the major currency pairs, with a focus on fundamental analysis. Kenny began his career in forex at Bendix Foreign Exchange in Toronto, where he worked as a Corporate Account Manager for over seven years. In addition to his background in forex, Kenny brings to OANDA his extensive experience as an editor and writer.
